PBParty 16: TOO TIRED TO TELL A STORY, PB

Title: TOO TIRED TO TELL A STORY
Genre: Picture Book
Word Count: 580

Query:

Dear Agent,

Book is a blurry-eyed mess and far too tired to tell a story. But when the reader ignores his request to come back later, Book must scramble to get everyone on the same page. Unfortunately, he and Plot get sidetracked by other characters' problems. Question Mark is too full of donuts to stand. Hero switches roles. Bad Guy quits. Exclamation Point wants to become the new villain—worse yet, Book sees THE END coming. What a disaster! He's a book without a story! When all seems lost, Bad Guy returns and tries to steal THE END and make the story go on forever. Book refuses to let that happen and finally finds a way to put his topsy-turvy tale to bed.

TOO TIRED TO TELL A STORY is a 580-word picture book, which will appeal to readers who enjoy Mo Willem's We Are in a Book and Patrick McDonnell's A Perfectly Messed-Up Story.

I am an award-winning writer in the role-playing game industry and an active member of the SCBWI. I also have a master’s degree in Library and Information Science with a focus on children and youth services and literature.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

First 50 Words:

Dear Reader,

Thank you for picking me up, but I'm too tired to tell you a story.
I stayed up way too late last night.
Please close me and come back later.

Thanks.
Your Very Tired Friend,
